I average about 17mpg and have a 20 gallon tank. So at my average MPG, I have roughly 70 miles left on this tank. Heres the rub though; I have 60 miles to drive before I have time to get gas. If I hypermile and dont go above 55mph, I can squeeze 20mpg out of my truck. Here goes nothing.
Bonus Content: There is another Ranger Enthusiast at my school. I wonder what their reaction would be seeing that I parked next to them, seeing as my class will probably get out after theirs does.

I have $3 in cash in my wallet that I have been saving for a soda at work, but if I really have to I can buy a gallon and a half of gas to tide me over. I really dont like doing partial fillups, but If I have to I have to

Your better off without the soda.

its a whole lot easier to spend that little bit of time to be sure you have gas enough to GET THERE, than it is to forcibly have your schedule cleared FOR YOU by running out of gas, and being stuck walking for a gas can, and then gas.or stuck on a hill, because your pump wont pick up fuel. i usually run out of gas within a block of the nearest gas station. sometimes AT the gas station. always kills 30-45 min.
also check the shed were you store the lawnmower. turn the weed eater upside down. theres gas to be had.

If you are running that short on gas money, perhaps you should consider storing a gallon in your truck for emergency or necessary times.

I have a gas can, but Im so low on funds mainly because I got a $250 speeding ticket (stupid speed traps), took my GF to Elitch Gardens for her B-Day this past weekend and I am also moving in with my gf to the tune of $200/ mo. Oh also my $125 insurance payment gets taken out on the $25th.
Luckily though, once Im moved in I will be driving alot less and I wont be driving on a road with 3 speed traps on it anymore.
We move in at the end of June, but May is gonna suck

i’m beginning to wonder how much the soda at his work costs..... $3 and he hasnt saved up enough yet?

I would suggest borrowing your girlfriend’s lipstick, and standing on the street corner after 10pm. Hey, you never know. You might get lucky.

I really miss that shade of green in the old Ford gauges.

Really, speed traps aside, you could have easily prevented this by just not speeding. You’d also be getting better gas millage and not needing to spread your tank this thin.
Just slow down. You’re taking things too fast.
I hardly ever go over the speed limit and look at what I’m getting:

The thing is my speedometer is innacurate. I got caught doing 50 ina 35, my speedo read 40 and the guy in front of me was going faster. I drive with the flow of traffic.

Also keep in mind, I have a bigger engine than you, beefier tires, and my truck is 10 years older than yours. I’m not gonna get the same MPGS, my truck is only rated for 16-18 city/highway mileage

You also have the added weight of the extended cab. If I’m not mistaken though you have a 3.55 in the rear while I have a 3.73 and I also have a higher ride height.
People also usually say the 3.0 and 4.0 are about the same on millage. I’ll say that it’s technically plausible for you to get better millage, and if you put in significant effort you could match mine. But you still could do better.
You really should get your speedo fixed. It’s really not a good excuse. There’s also nothing wrong with going the speed limit. People can always pass you and get can’t get mad at you for following the law.
All car stuff aside though, slow down. Think about it. You always sound stressed out about everything, and I can understand that. But if you can find the time just try and take it easy.

Its a cable driven speedometer, to fix it, I would have to take apart the transmission and replace the nylon speedometer gear.

I guess since you’re taking it out it’s not worth it. You could put a paper one with the correct speed over it.

No I cant, the difference in speed changes depending on what gear I’m in, because manual

I have found that going the flow of traffic 9 times out of ten is a safe bet. But when there is a speed trap there is nothing I can do

Except not speed.
![]() 05/18/2016 at 10:32 |

I can’t not speed if I don’t know how fast I’m going

It’s still not an excuse if you’re just being negligent of the issue.
Also it doesn’t take any cell phone data for a GPS speedometer.

Except a cell phone gps has about the same accuracy rate as my speedo. Trust me, If you can think of it, Ive tried it already
![]() 05/18/2016 at 10:41 |

You need to get a better cell phone then.
I mean it’s your money you’re spending on tickets. Just don’t blame the cops, they have no problem with you driving the speed limit.
![]() 05/18/2016 at 10:46 |

Oh I know I need a better cell phone lol. I ended up buying a radar detector, when it goes off I just drop my speed about 10 miles an hour regardless of how fast I’m actually going
![]() 05/18/2016 at 10:50 |
|
That’s probably your best bet. Although how do you know you’re going 10 mph less if your speedometer doesn’t work?

My speedometer reads anywhere from 5-15mph low, depending on what gear Im in. So it reads a speed, just the wrong one. So regardless of how off it is at that particular moment, Im doing at most 5 over. Which I shouldnt get pulled over for.
Example: Speedo reads 40 in 4th, is 10mph low, actually going 50, drop down to 30, goes 40.... Approximately, Im still not 100% sure how off I am in each gear and at each speed
